Mian Situ
Mian Situ was born in Southern China and received his formal art training in his native homeland of Guangdong, formerly Canton. After completing his Masters in Fine Art, Mian immigrated to Canada and resides in California today.
Mian’s deep-toned impressionistic paintings of the rural countryside in his native China focus on people going about their daily lives. Mian’s artistic versatility is evident in his exquisite portraiture, as well as his more recent works inspired by western historical themes and American landscapes. Of his work, he says “My paintings always tell a story.”
Mian Situ has been receiving accolades and prestigious awards since 1995 including the three major awards during the 2003 Masters of the American West at the Gene Autry Museum.
