According to Navajo oral history, Spider Grandmother, one of the holy people, taught the women of the tribe to weave on a loom made of the earth, rain and sky and a comb made of the sun. From this day forward weaving played a crucial role in the religion and culture of the Navajo people.
The meticulously researched subjects of Z. S. Liang’s Western scenes emphasize the valor and pride of the Native American peoples. Liang’s award-winning art makes an impressive statement anywhere it hangs, whether it be gallery, museum, office or home.
